Johannes Vlaar graduated from the Academie voor fysiotherapie in Groningen, The Netherlands. He moved to Florida in 1992 and has been in private practice since 2000."The importance of manual therapy in general and MFR in particular is often overlooked in physical therapy clinics." says Johannes.
Having worked in a more traditional physical therapy clinic, Johannes decided to open his own clinic in 2000.
"It was very challenging to provide MFR in a traditional setting, mostly because of the time pressure because I would have 3 to 4 clients on my schedule every hour. I knew that if I wanted to treat in a way that I myself would want to be treated, I would have to go out on my own."
To further expand his knowledge of the fascia and the different systems within the body, Johannes also has extensive training in Craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and nerve manipulation as well.
"It has been very helpful for me as a therapist, to combine what I feel with my hands with the anatomical knowledge of the nervous system, the cranial system and the organs"
