Nicole began her career as an engineer. She graduated from Northeastern University, Magna Cum Laude in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. After starting her full time job as an engineer, she decided to attend massage school during the evenings as a personal interest. Nicole graduated from SpaTech in Ipswich in December, 2005 and opened her tiny, one room Skin to Soul Massage in January 2006. Massaging most evenings after her engineering job, she grew her practice easily. After about 4 years and much thought, Nicole took the leap and decided to follow her true passion and become a massage therapist full time.Nicole completed John F. Barnes Myofascial I, II and unwinding courses in Sedona in February, 2011. She became very focused on myofascial work and transitioned to mostly Myofascial work in February, 2012. She realized a life long dream when she decided to expand her massage business into a Self Improvement Center in September, 2011. She continued with her MFR coursework after opening her center. She is an Expert Level MFR Therapist and mentors her 18 other therapists at her clinic. She has repeated all of John's courses and facilitates the North Shore Boston MFR Study Group. She has also travelled the United States instructing with John Barnes and his staff. Nicole's passion is growth and progression. She is dedicated to giving her clients results and a different way of approaching life.
Nicole and Katie have also created an online Myofascial Self Care Course that can be used in conjunction with regular Myofascial Treatment. They post a lot of helpful videos and information on their sister site: www.lookinsideloveyourlife.com.
Katie Brockway is a John Barnes trained Advanced Level Myofascial Release therapist and Reiki Master in Massachusetts and has been working in Woburn at Skin to Soul since 2013. She is currently filming and editing a documentary about Myofascial Unwinding and is the co-creator of the Myofascial Self Care Course Online. Katie has a particular interest in unwinding, the energetic side of Myofascial Release and the emotional clearing which can occur during treatment. She believes this is a key to living a more joyful, fulfilling and pain-free life. She has great success with her clients’ pain relief in balancing the pelvis and addressing the neck, jaw and headaches.
Before pursuing a career in the healing arts, Katie studied Fine Art and French at Skidmore College, graduating with a BS in 2008. In 2011 she completed Prana Power Yoga’s Assistant training program and assisted students in classes for a year. During her time as a yoga assistant she realized the profound potential of the power of therapeutic touch. Inspired by her yoga experiences, Katie attended The Massage School in Acton, MA where she completed their 800hr program including more than 200 clinic hours. She has also studied Zen Shiatsu and teaches Reiki certification courses. In her free time, she is making video art, doing her own self-care and spiritual work, painting and enjoying the outdoors.
Nicole and Katie have also partnered together to create an online myofascial self care course as an adjunct to Myofascial Treatments. For more information and MFR self care tips and videos, check out their sister site: www.lookinsideloveyourlife.com
